Peter Smith, 15, Brentwood turned Sayville bowl into his own personal stomping ground this past friday as a2Z visited the bowling center for the second time this summer. smith rolled an opening front 3 of 806 scratch and never looked back as he won the junior handicap division going away. for smith, it was his second consecutive title on the a2Z tour as he won last week at east Islip.
in the junior scratch division, louis dalessio, 16, sound beach, took a huge step in establishing himself as one of the better junior bowlers on long island as he defeated one of the ALREADY top junior bowlers on long island in Mike wodzinski, 17, east meadow. dalessio has to be feeling alot better these days as he defeated wodzinski for the first time on the a2Z tour this year. the two dynamic young stars have faced off a few time already this year with wodzinski defeating dalessio at every opportunity. however, dalessio saw to it that the chimp that grew to a monkey on his his shoulders was not going to turn into king kong as he defeated wodzinski to earn the title.
in the adult handicap division, sal zambito (18ish looks 19!) had to withstand a nervous 10th frame with anne quarry (late 20's...this is getting ridiculous, but i started with the ages for the kids...and i want to keep it consistant!), bethpage as he won for the second time this summer on the a2Z tour. both wins have come at Sayville.
rob bennett, (will not disclose age!), westhampton, highlighted the evening with a 300 game in the adult scratch division powering his way to the adult title. the age-less wonder bennett hit the 300 game jackpot for the adults at $163.00 in addition to his earnings for winning his division.

Championship Game: dalession defeated mike wodzinski, east meadow 257-201
Adult Scratch Division:
Semi Final Game: stacey bokina, peconic defeated pete bohleber, miller place 227-214.
Championship game: rob bennett, westhampton defeated bokina 245-192
Adult handicap division:
Semi Final game: Anne Quarry, Bethpage defeated jennifer paxson, patchogue 173-145
Championship Game: sal zambito, shirley defeated Quarry 210-197.
Junior hdcp division:
semi final game: josh noble, bayport defeated jerome dietz, mastic 236-169
Championship Game: peter smith, brentwood defeated noble 233-186.

This week at Westhampton starts the second half of the Summer Tour. For those bowlers that DO bowl in the A2Z events, try and bring along a fellow bowler that will participate. The more bowlers we have, the larger the prize fund and the larger the scholarship dollars! ..... The first half certificates of scholarships for the Junior Bowlers who qualified will be ready for pick-up at Westhampton. A2Z will carry them week to week, house to house. After the summer is completed, the second half scholarship papers and the ones remaining from the first half will be either mailed or hand delivered to those we see..... For the few that know me, Poppa Z, and for the ones that don't, I travel every week to West Palm Beach, Florida on a business related issue. I arrive home Friday Mornings at McArthur Airport at 9:40 am after spending the better part of week in Florida. With that in mind, PLEASE DONT complain to me how hot and muggy it is on Long Island! And you wanna know WHY?! Good, glad you asked! In West Palm Beach this time of year....the chickens lay HARD BOILED EGGS! OK!. Just dont go there with me on that subject! Cause I "aint" gonna listen to ya! You wanna know EXACTLY if your sweat glands are working? Take a trip with me...... Until next time!
