A2Z is happy to inform everyone that was in attendance at Coram Lanes this past Friday night, June 3, 2005, that Robert Ehlers, Bohemia is doing just fine.
A2Z made several attempts to contact Robert on Saturday June 4, 2005 to no avail. Robert however made the return phone call at approx 9:PM indicating while he "did have a headache" and in addition was "hurting just somewhat", was doing OK. Apparently he was examined and was given the green light to pehaps "take it easy the next day or two" in order for him to get back to snuff.
What can only be described as a freak accident, the end result of the chain of events that took place during game 4 of qualifying resulted in Robert being the recipient of an estimated 1 inch wound to his scalp. Robert was attended to by A2Z participant and RN Patti Buckley, East Patchogue and by parent of several bowlers participating Pam Dietz, Mastic. A very alert and acting quickly Steve Kuehne, East Patchogue (Fire Department Member) knowing full well that trauma was a possibility alerted the Selden Fire Department Medical Squad which resulted in them being on the scene very quickly. No action however was taken.
Robert did decline several times the need for immediate medical attention and in fact... very gamely finished his squad assignment and indeed took some good natured kidding from his friends and colleagues when everything had settled.
The entire A2Z family, Steve "A" and Poppa "Z", the workers behind the scenes, the bowlers and friends in attendance along with Coram Lanes hope Robert will be back to normal within the next 2 days or so.....
When the going got tough on Friday Night.... it seemed everyone inside Coram Lanes came through in a big way!
Here is to you Robert! Feel better dude!
The A2Z Family!
Thank You!
