winning any event on the a2Z bowling tour is difficult to begin with. a major event title is even more difficult since the majors are few in between. being crowned a champion is certainly alot of fun. for shana kase, deer park this past sunday night at babylon, winning the junior handicap division over frank masone, smithtown however had that added touch of spice that made things even more special. kase became the fourth member of her immediate family to win an a2Z event. shana, the youngest of the competing family members joins sister meghan kase, brother ryan kase and dad Frank Kase in the winners circle. the title earned by shana gives the kase family an unprecidented 4th family member title on the A2Z tour. now, if somehow we can get mom Laura kase involved....... hmmmm.

three other competitors won major titles this past sunday as frank giordano (Sachem East HS Varsity Bowling) defeated dan brezo (Longwood HS Varsity Bowling) in the junior scratch division. tommy genova Sr, elmont defeated terri troise, baiting hallow in the adult handicap divsion while adam sher, commack took care of frank kase, deer park in the adult scratch division. the win by sher was his third major event win with A2Z. Sher won the new years day major event in 2006 competing in the adult scratch division and won as a junior scratch bowler in the labor day weekend major event held in september 2004. sher also has numerous regular format titles with A2Z while competing as a junior during his high school years.

Well, the season opener for the 2007 summer season is in the books. plenty more to come. the fun is just beginning.

Keglers Korner..........

The shot pattern for our opening event this past week was a bit too rough according to a handful of bowlers. It has been the A2Z policy for the past 2 1/2 years to toughen things up a bit as scores were getting way out of hand a few seasons back. We listened to our bowlers then by cutting back on the shot a bit and we will listen to our bowlers now by returning to the house shot patterns of the houses we visit during the coming year. We will however from time to time request the house we are visiting that week to tighten them up a bit. When A2Z does ask a house to create a more challenging shot, all bowlers will be given notice leading up to that week. This week, A2Z visits Port Jeff Bowl. The house shot will be used.

Always trying to listen to what it is our bowlers have to say.
