A2Z Bowling is in existence for a number of reasons. One reason, is to bring back competitive tournament bowling that is affordable to ALL bowlers in the Long Island  area. Back in the 80's, the LONG ISLAND BOWLING TOUR enjoyed success in the Long Island Area. However, the tour is no longer in existence, and quite frankly, we hope A2Z bowling can bring some of its charm back to tournament bowling. Another reason, is A2Z bowling is offering a unique FRIDAY NIGHT format that we hope will start everyone's summer week-end in a nice fashion. In addition, it will give an opportunity for bowling families to compete under the same roof AND at the same time! So, Mom and Dad wont have to "watch" Jr. bowl like they do now on Saturday and Sunday at the tournaments, but rather, they TOO can compete and show the "kids" how to get it done! <clearing throat>!

Perhaps though, the biggest reason A2Z bowling is coming to life, is Mr. Steve Abrams. For those who don't know Steve, please take the time to read his profile:

25 years coaching Juniors
Past Jr. Coordinator @ Rocky Point Bowl
Ran Jr./Adult programs @ Port Jeff Bowl
1st President of Suffolk County "Bowlympics" (travel league)
President of Suffolk County Girls Bowling Coaches Assoc. since 1981 (H.S.)
Coached Ward Melville HS Girls - (1980 - 1989)
Coached Longwood HS Girls - (1990 - present)
Coached S. C. Community College Men & Women 1 year (program dropped)
ELIBA Associate Director/Director
Sec. and Treas. of many adult leagues for 15 years (PJ, RP, Coram)
Taught Elem. School, Asst. Princ, Principal @ S. Manor School Dist. 34 years
Retired as of August 2000

Steve brings a passion to the sport, as do many others, but he goes beyond the call of duty. His record speaks for itself. But Steve realizes that for MANY bowlers on Long Island nowadays, "finding the affordable and fair" tournament is a hard thing to do! To few and far in between. Thus, the birth of A2Z Bowling. There is also one other aspect of Steve that is ever so important. He possesses the ability to make people smile.

A2Z bowling will also bring along another familiar face, especially to the  Jr Bowlers in Suffolk County, in Ken Zagorski or affectionately known as "Poppa Z".  Most recently, Ken's organizational skills have helped Suffolk County with the High School Bowling Championships since 2001.  In addition, he was the official statistician for the NYSPHSAA Bowling Championship that was held at Sayville, LI in March 2001 and at East Meadow in March 2003. Structure and presentation is present in Ken's "game". Ken's wife Donna, is a regular at the A2Z events "behind" the scenes entering scores and putting up with Ken's anxiety!

As you can see, A(brams) -2- Z(agorski) Bowling is in good hands.
