RULES AND REGULATIONS 2008 A2Z Provides honor score awards
*** Note: adults and juniors will not be competing with or against each other.
2 DIVISIONS in each tournament TO CHOOSE FROM: HANDICAP (90% OF 230) AND SCRATCH.
Handicap division:
ALL BOWLERS MUST HAVE A sanctioned 2007-08 USBC AVERAGE for a min of 21 games. attention junior bowlers: HIGH SCHOOL AVERAGES FOR THE 2007-08 (min 9 games) SEASON WILL APPLY FOR bOWLERS who have such an average. THE HIGH AVERAGE WILL APPLY FOR HANDICAP PURPOSES. Bowlers will be responsible to bring a league sheet dated no earlier than may 1, 2008 for verification of average. failure to do so will result in bowler participating in the scratch division. bowlers will be responsible to report correct high average for 2006-07 season. failure to do so may result in disqualification and discipline action filed with the USBC. the division the bowler starts game 1 in will be the division that bowler will remain in for the duration of the tournament on that night.
Bowlers will re-establish an entering average upon the completion of 8 games in
the qualify rounds of a2z tournaments starting with the first 4-fame format. after 8 games, the bowler will
re-establish his/her entering average on a week to week basis. at no point will
a bowler be permitted to fall below his entering average used for the first 8
games by more than 10 pins. bowlers who are below the 10-pin drop will use the
beginning average less 10 for handicap purposes. bowlers who do not have an
entering average will use 230 as an entering average. a2zbowling reserves the
right to re-rate at any point prior or during a tournament.
scratch division:
Any bowler that is sanctioned for the 2007-08 season can bowl. no verification of average will me made. A2Z bowling will not accept new sanction applications.
FORMAT:

GAMES ACROSS 8 LANES or 5 games across 10 lanes. a maximum of 4 bowlers bASEd ON
TOTAL WOOD in the 4-game qualifying round WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINALS. THE TOP
SEED (#1) WILL GET AN AUTOMATIC BID INTO THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. The remaining
bowlers that qualify for the finals will bowl a one game elimination game vs
each other. winner to advance to the finals vs the #1 seed. FINAL STANDINGS: THE
FINALS WINNER WILL BE DECLARED CHAMPION. THE FINALS NON-WINNER WILL BE DECLARED
#2. THE REMAINING bowlers from the finals WILL be PLACED evenly and will split
earnings for adults and scholarship earnings for juniors.

Bowlers that do not register online at a2zbowling.com will be charged a walk on fee of $10.00
jr scholarship money will be credited via scholarship dollars.

the LIJBsf office number is 631-777-7733. scholarship money is available for post
hs continued education and can be used for trade school or college. special
circumstances are considered based on substantiation.
THIS TOURNAMENT IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. PRIZE MONEY AND
SCHOLARSHIP DOLLARS DISTRIBUTION WILL BE DIRECTLY LINKED TO # OF ENTRANTS PER
DIVISION ON A 1:5+1 minimum RATIO.
bring a friend discount entry incentive:
any established a2z bowler who brings along a sanctioned bowler that meets the entering average requirements and has not bowled in a prior a2z event will immediately receive a $3.00 discount towards the entry fee per bowler presented! present 3 new bowlers and get a $10.00 discount! maximum 3 new bowlers per established bowler per tournament. new bowlers will be required to pay full entry fee.
300 game progressive pot:
$1.00 of every entry goes towards the progressive 300 game fund. all 300 games bowled on a given night will split the 300 game progressive fund evenly. there is a fund for adults and a fund for juniors. the two funds are independent of each other. the funds are progressive and carry over from week to week. multiple 300 games by an individual will count as a separate entity and will be entitled to a full share of the fund. starting with the 2006 summer season, the funds collected on tournament night will be used as the opening funds for the following week. if the fund(s) is not hit on a given night, those funds will be added to the progressive fund and the following week 300 fund money collected will serve as the opening fund for that following week. the opening 300 funds for the 2006 summer tour will be $680.00 for adults and $360.00 for juniors.
options available to bowlers:
juniors: $3.00 8 in a row fund (covers you for all games during qualifying), handicap brackets $2.00 per bracket, scratch brackets $2.00. all funds available via LIJBSF rules as mentioned above.
