Long Island Summer Bowling Tour!

The severe thunderstorms that hit Long Island on Friday August 10, 2001 certainly had an impact on the LISBT. Towards the end of game 2 in the 4 game qualifier, power was lost at South Levittown Lanes at approximately 9:30 pm.

45 minutes later, at 10:15 pm, LIPA advised management of South Levittown Lanes that it could take up to 3 hours to restore the power. A main generator had been hit. At that moment in time, Co-coordinators Steve Abrams and Ken Zagorski, of A2Z Bowling, made the decision to cancel the tournament. All entry fees and bracket money was returned 100%.

For the many of tournament bowlers who made the trip to South Levittown under the extreme circumstances....... WOW! Nothing gets in the way of the bowling eh? :o)

However, for the first time ever, A2Z Bowling has exclusive photos that we would like to share with you. These photos were taken seconds prior to A2Z canceling the tournament for the evening.
